Stuttgart Laser Technology Forum
Highlights and innovations in the field of laser-based manufacturing will bring
together experts and users at the seventh Stuttgart Laser Technologies Forum (SLT) from 13. to 14.
June 2012. The SLT is organized by the IFSW and take place in conjunction with the international
trade fair for system solutions in laser material processing (LASYS) at the new fair next to the
Stuttgart airport.
The Stuttgart Laser Technologies Forum which takes place on a biannual cycle since more than
a decade is aimed at knowledge transfer and is recognized as an essential international user forum
of the laser branch. Simultaneous translation is provided for the German presentations.
Current trends in laser technology and best-practice examples for the application of lasers
in materials processing as well as the opportunities of technology transfer to the industrial
environment are presented at the SLT by well-known experts form industry and science.
The core topics of the SLT 2012 once more will cover process control, high-precision ablating
micro-machining, and user experience on the application of high-brilliance cw lasers (especially
thin-disc and fiber) in processes like cutting and welding. Presentations on new trends in the
development of laser sources, beam shaping and beam delivery will additionally give an outlook on
next-generation lasers.
